«Italy is a wonderful country – Denis Urubko says –. People are friendly and mountains are perfect for my training». For this reason Denis spends some months a year in Italy: in the last weeks he visited C.A.M.P. head office in Premana several times to collaborate with our R&D department. But Urubko is more than a C.A.M.P. athlete: between C.A.M.P. and him there is a sincere friendship that was born in 2000 when Denis climbed Mount Everest with Simone Moro. Denis likes to highlight that C.A.M.P. has been the first company to notice his talent and that helped him to make his dreams come true.
The Russian top alpinist is a special guest every time he visits Premana: you can meet him in the narrow streets of the village or at the restaurant: he loves to take pictures, to talk with people and to give them the official t-shirts of his next expeditions. In brief, Denis Urubko is a unique man both on the highest mountains and in the everyday life: he achieved some of the most impressive Himalayan climbs, new routes and first winter ascents and he wants to share his adventures with everybody by books and lectures.
In the last December, he gave an awesome Christmas gift to all C.A.M.P. employees taking an exciting evening lecture in the company head office. He presented his career from the ex USSR peaks – he climbed Khan Tengri 20 times! – to the 14 Himalaya and Karakorum 8000ers. Denis won over the audience, giving to all participants his books Colpevole d'alpinismo (Guilty of alpinism) and Eccesso di montagna (Excess of mountain) with personalized dedications!
